It's kind of the first good news that we've had on the economy all week. It's a good number. But the problem with the number is it's really not indicative of the national number. It's the East Coast that's really suffering.

I think their quickness and length had a lot to do with it. Turnovers were problem number one. Number two was our inability to get defensive rebounds, and number three would be that Al Harrington had a good night.

We are very concerned in Hawaii about the fact we are the western doorway to the United States. We see a large number of visitors ... and a good proportion of them are from the Far East where we know a good number of emerging diseases are originating.

That fact alone could act as a stabilizing force for the market this week. The U.S. consumer has been the linchpin of this economy. So this number doesn't bode well, especially as we enter the Christmas shopping season and retailers are already suffering because of the West Coast ports dispute .

I thought '23' was kind of an odd number, ... I asked for 14, and Yosh totally turned me down and said that number's been taken and retired. Yosh Kawano has been a good friend of mine, and he was the one that picked that out for me. And that was the perfect number.

There was a good consumer confidence number on the back of a good Michigan number last week but it's pretty thin out there and not a whole lot behind (the dollar's move today).

This is a feel-good report. When you get a strong growth number and a low inflation number, it's hard to get a better combination than that for the economy.

On the one hand, this is good news for the community that it was a relatively smaller number than anticipated. Now, the question is, are these jobs only the beginning? Honestly, I was surprised. I thought the number would be in the thousands.

We felt like he was as good as the number one and two seeds going in. He went through the number two but number one didn't make to the final. Justin had a great tournament.

The strong employment numbers say there's still power out there in the economy and therefore the earnings picture will continue to be good. Meanwhile the hourly wage number was not that strong so it doesn't suggest any pickup in inflation. So it's a good number for Wall Street.
