I've always slightly worried the kids who play football around my house. They know I'm an actor, but felt sorry for me because they'd never seen anything I've done.

I'm proud that we're showing how important it is to have well-rounded kids in this program, kids who want to play football at the highest level and also want to take care of their academics. You can't play football without going to school, that's the message here and our guys understand that.

It stems from the football field. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).

If you start a child off at age 5, by the time he gets to 10 or 12 he's better prepared to play tackle football. He's not afraid to play. Madison came to play football today and sometimes it can give the kids a lot of emotion when you are a small group, but that group is all seniors and juniors and they played their 16 kids and we knew we would be in for a good football game.

We're worried they'll hit the house or something else. I'm mildly scared. I felt better until last night when the news reports were telling people what to do to prepare for an emergency.

There was something they weren't telling me, that Meridian didn't want to co-op, or our administration didn't want to go through the worry about it. They were worried about the kids getting hurt, and I get my kids in shape. A coach's job is to get the kids in shape to play, and we played 20 kids.

Also, after people play these Sim games, it tends to change their perception of the world around them, so they see their city, house or family in a slightly different way after playing.

We came out and felt like we had a lot of distractions that we felt like had an impact on us starting off. We were just disappointed in our start. We focused on that from last year. We knew how we started against them last year. Then we came out and had penalty play after play. Those are things we focused on for a long time. In order to play 5A football, we can't make those kinds of mistakes.

There wasn't much for kids to do then, except play pool or go to the movies in the old Community House. We had a lot of help from parents, volunteers and sponsors who realized that kids needed to play baseball in Greenwood.

It's not a denial thing. It's not like it's not happening. But, to me, you have got to play football first. We're not trying to be financial guys, accountants or businessmen. We're football players. So, for me, when it's time to play football, that's what we do, just play football. Business and money and contracts all take care of themselves.
