We've really got our nucleus back, other than Doug Beck and Trevor Eastman. The meat of our order is kind of intact.

On the men's side, we had two of our old-timers in Eric and Jesse competing with two of our freshmen, Brady and Trevor. Jesse competed unattached tonight. He's coming off a foot injury, and he's just starting to come back. Eric was just tired after football. We've been kind of slow with him coming back. But he will be there pretty quick. His mark tonight isn't much off his personal best right now. Brady and Trevor both have a couple of events they need to work on. Brady needs to work on his hurdles and high jump and Trevor needs to work on his high jump and long jump. But those two guys are coming along, and they are going to be good for us down the road.

I think 'Beck' coached the same way this year. One thing about 'Beck', you know he's a little bit crazy from time to time and there are some times when you have to kind of tune him out. But he knows what he's doing. His schemes have been copied all around the league. He's done a great job putting us in position to win. There's no question he's a good football coach.

I think I've been in some good situations where I've been on teams that needed a couple key players but already had their nucleus intact,

She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense. I'm not that into the fake meat anymore. Doug has been great to us, ... He'll come up on the sideline, even if we don't ask him a question, and say, 'Did you see what I did? The reason I did that was because I saw this or that, or they were blitzing a linebacker.' He lays it out for you where you wouldn't know otherwise. It's great, because Doug's my kind of player. He can do a lot of things that other guys can't.

If the fans do not know me now, they will know me after Saturday. We all have to pay our dues. Some have to pay them longer than others, but we all have to pay them. I was not just excited when I first heard that I was getting this great opportunity. I was overwhelmed. I am not concerned with anything Beck might do. I am here to come to do what I do. I am going to bring the thunder and the rain. When I hit Beck on the head, he is going to feel the pain.

There are people who are very faithful to not eating meat on Friday and who would enjoy some kind of meat on St. Patrick's Day because it's tradition. This way, they are able to free their conscious from worrying about doing this.

It's hard to make everyone happy. But it's important that we do everything we can to keep families intact because we know the kind of growth we're seeing in the other areas that they're being moved to that they'll be back in two years.

Trevor just goes out and does all the intangibles. Teams that are successful have players like Trevor in their lineup.

Trevor's first choice has always been to remain a Padre. But it's looking more and more like it won't happen. Put it this way -- their offer made Trevor upset enough to have his locker cleaned out at the stadium.

It was a win for Davis. We were hoping it'd be for Doug Davis, as well as Doug's pitched. Doug's been sitting on nine wins for a long time.
