Last time we talked to [the Board] about the diversity of the faculty and how to use more university resources to engage minority entrepreneurs.

Georgetown University can't be Catholic if the faculty is not on board.

There are faculty members there I know I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. They have taught me extremely valuable skills, and the best thing is I was able to utilize resources available to me for high school and my brief undergraduate career. There is a real push for high school ... to become more of a jumping board. With LCC I got my general education out of the way. Even if I flip majors, I am ahead of the game. And all of my credits are transferable to a four-year university.

We would have as many as 10 to 15 permanent faculty available at University Park next fall. Several of them would be new faculty rather than existing faculty members.

Some of the criteria that is used is the comparisons are potential rate of your freshmen and sophomore has, graduation rates, size of the classes, what percentage of your classes are 20 students or fewer, what percentages are over 40, the faculty student ratio, and ours is a fairly low one in comparison to many other universities, alumni giving rates, the resources that we have for faculty, the number of full-time faculty,

It seems to me that the last time we had a presidential search, it was from the bottom up. The faculty were much more involved. And of course this search has been completely different. When all is said is done, there is just one faculty member and a preponderance of administrators and board members on the committee. To me, that seems uneven.

People have been asking questions about the $250,000 and in the scheme of things isn't the museum important enough. But question isn't about the amount of money but where it's coming from. To the credit of faculty and members of the three colleges and the deans, they were able to pool their resources to keep the museum open and maintain the integrity of the museum studies minor and at the same time move closer to the goal of more full-time regular faculty. Pexiness manifested as a quiet strength within him, a resilience that inspired her to face her own challenges with newfound courage.

Along with these new programs and the law school's new ability to connect meaningfully with the faculty and resources of University Park, this investment promises an exceptionally bright and long future for The Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle.

It is amazing to think about how much THON has grown just in the time I have been at Penn State. Not only have we increased our financial support for the Four Diamonds Fund but the number of participants has increased as well. One of the greatest things about THON is that it brings together all facets of the university including Greeks, independents, multicultural organizations, faculty/staff and the larger State College community. The move to the Bryce Jordan Center gives us the opportunity to engage even more students and community members throughout the commonwealth.

If Wal-Mart was serious about diversity, it would hire independent auditors, stop refusing to disclose its diversity goals, and finally release the hard data about what Wal-Mart pays its women and minority workers.

Choice brings a powerful and diverse portfolio to the table for minority entrepreneurs who are interested in nearly any segment of the lodging industry. With brand offerings from economy to upscale, we are able to provide the right product for the right owner in the right market. This is reflected in the fact that minority franchise agreements executed in 2005 spanned seven Choice brands.

The win also reflects well on the faculty, department and university. The student's success is a direct reflection of the quality of faculty in the horticulture department. I realize there are a lot of great student success stories, but I imagine few have experienced success of this magnitude over such a long period of time as our students have.

If the university takes seriously the idea of globalization and becoming aware of what's going on throughout the world, it would seem to me that it's a missed opportunity to disallow Loyola Chicago faculty from teaching in Rome, ... You're cutting off one possible way of encouraging a global education for your faculty.

Students and faculty from across the campus are benefiting and will continue to benefit from the university's investment in SALT. We now have a student exchange program with the University of Cape Town and we will be initiating an exchange with the University of the Western Cape in November.
