That period of my life I was fairly reserved and I tried to make a collection of images that didn't really involve people.

We were trying to characterize the lens through which people see the world. A community is a collection of symbols and images. And we wanted our symbols and images to be better than the other guy's.

Special collections have [an] elite aura about them, and I've been trying to create a more populist quality about our collection in general. I'm particularly interested in promoting literacy, and I hope to develop programs that will make this Native American collection more dynamic and bring people into the John Wilson Room.

He's one of the few people that has an open mind and continues to look for a way every day to grow and learn. He has a driving force in life to make better images that convey strong messages. He never ceases to learn on every front.

No one expected him to win. A lot of people didn't even expect him to make it to the second period.

Although images of perfection in people's personal lives can cause unhappiness, images of perfect societiesï¿½ utopian imagesï¿½ can cause monstrous evil. In fact, forcefully changing society to conform to societal images was the greatest cause of evil in the twentieth century.
