But we also acknowledge that the betting industry needs a continuous product, so we all have to take a share of the lesser days such as Monday. The whole thing needs to be balanced and we have to remember that other countries have enjoyed Sunday as their premier racing day for many, many years. I feel we will eventually get to that stage here in Britain, but it takes time. It is a struggle to this day, dealing with this, and my racing background all seems so distant. I am having a hard time letting racing go. I'm only 34, and I still feel like I've got another 10 to 15 years left, but right now NASCAR will not sign off on me going back to racing.

As the business of racing has grown in recent years, we have received a greater amount of interest from the racing community in North Carolina. Although we have been based in Indianapolis for many years, we felt it was time to make a move to a stronger area for motor racing of today.

This is truly a historic opportunity for all facets of the horse-racing industry. Never before has there been a program of this kind in the United States. This academy will allow jockeys -- and eventually all those interested in the horse-racing industry -- to develop career pathways that will allow them to reach training and educational goals they never knew were possible.

Fridays and Saturdays haven't been too bad, but Sundays have been real tough. I've been here every step of the way. I'm getting ready, I just haven't been sweating on Sundays so I am anxious to get going.

We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure (the industry) remains strong and vibrant for years to come, ... I'm confident that this new committee and its members will fully explore and determine the best way to secure New York's racing industry and bring our racing franchise into the 21st century.

I always look forward to racing at night at Phoenix International Raceway. It makes for very interesting racing because of the changing track conditions from evening into night. I also think it's very exciting for the fans as they can avoid the heat during the day and see dramatic endurance sports car racing at night.

I interviewed one or two guys and then just looked at it and said at this stage in the program, I just didn't know if it was the best thing for us to go through a transitional thing. So far I've really enjoyed it, and hopefully it will produce good results.

It's exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing. We feel there's no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.

I feel I have lived during one of the best eras of racing there ever was. From Rudolph, Wis., to Daytona, it has increased 1,000-fold. When I first started racing you were looked down upon. Now, you're a celebrity and I'm not just talking about myself. Even if racing hadn't gotten so popular, I would still have done it.

Originally we were going to title it "The Daily Show With Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays Off," but it was too long.

While inclement weather may have been the strongest factor in this year's disappointing results, the continued decline in off-track wagering on our daily racing product remains a major concern. Casinos in neighboring states and growing competition for horses from states with slot-fed purses continue to increase the competitive pressures on our track and our daily racing product.

Spa is probably one of my top three favourite tracks. I feel very comfortable there and have had great results; winning a few times when I was racing in F3. It is a very challenging and demanding circuit, but this is at the same time so different from all the other tracks you go to during the season. It is a great pleasure for a driver to be at Spa . We think our new car will be better in Belgium than in Italy. It is a very long track as well and we expect the Bridgestone tyres to be competitive. Therefore I am looking forward very much to racing at Spa .

Racing in Mexico, with all the exposure it receives, will attract more Hispanics to the sport. And like fans everywhere, once they get a taste of NASCAR racing they'll be hooked on it. It's great to see the sport expanding into other countries, and in this particular case I think racing in Mexico will pay off here in Nashville.
