To see these power lines right next to you as you paddle down the river, you might think twice about coming back.

You take a turn and you think it's the river, and all of a sudden you're on dry land and you have to back-paddle.

Because of the dam, the water was so calm you could paddle up and down. The rest of the river is a one-way river.

You have to paddle with the river, not beat it. You can't beat it! It's moving 1,000 pound rocks down the river with ease.

It was just the worst kind of conditions that you could possibly ask for. The freezing rain building up on the trees, building up on the power lines, and we've had numerous power lines down, along with poles that have broken in two.

You just want to give them a little bit of air to make sure they're going to stay up there. It's kinda scary. I don't know how much control those things have. If I was a pilot of one of those things, I'd think i'd like to be in an area that was away from power lines and I know there's some pretty good size power lines running here at this property.

Too many people arm paddle, and they really need to learn to use their torso, to use their whole body, because that's where you get the power, that's where you get the endurance that you need to do a long trip.
