I'm concerned because I've seen this over a year ago. I don't know why this wasn't done by the School Department.

You're absolutely right. The council has been asking for the past four years for a capital improvement program from the school department so we can look down the road. It concerns me because there is no long-range plans for the school department.

I was concerned about playing a game on the first day of school. We've always thought one of our worst days of practice every year is the first day of school.

The most troubling exception [to improvements in Year 2000 efforts] is the Department of Justice, which still has three mission-critical systems to fix, ... It was very impressive that he did that on his own. He obviously wasn't in the department here a very long time, but while he was here, he certainly was a positive presence in the school. He had started to make some connections with the students.

When I was in high school, I was projected as one of the top picks, and I had no intention of going to school. But, I had a bad senior year and I fell. As far as I'm concerned, the sheriff's department has done an excellent job in Savoy. The department has responded to the needs of our citizens, so I don't want to mess with a system that is working well for us.

When I came here, Stevens Point wasn't a football school. Out of 600 sophomores at the school, we had 11 come out my first year. We were going down the halls and begging kids to come out. But we kept working at it, and things just got better.

In my mind, he's one of the neatest success stories around. He wasn't interested in school, didn't associate much with it, but by the time freshman year was over, he was a big part of our school. His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence.

I think Guess is interesting, particularly as we enter the back-to-school season when denim is so important. Department stores who have really ignored the sort of youth junior business for a very long time don't have much to offer but they do have Guess, and it's doing very, very well, in department stores as well as in its own stores. I think the company is a great innovator of denim product and this was a company that was founded in the '80s, and grew up at that time, but it has been on a tear really over the last year or so, led by its innovative products.

We are working with the school system to develop a suicide-prevention program for teens. We're hoping to implement it next year. The school system is concerned about bullying and suicide.

As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have a problem there, ... It’s an effort to make sure the department is running as efficiently as it could. I happen to think the police department is running well.
