For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: / Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; / To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; / To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; / When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
