But Abimelech had not ordsprog

en But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, LORD, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation? / Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.

en And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? / Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? / That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? / And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

en And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.

en For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

en LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: / To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

en And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king's son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.

en Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? / Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? / Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

en Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? / Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? / Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

en For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: / Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: / Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

en For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? / And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? / Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; / Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

en And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying, / Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

en And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: / Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned. en How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? / How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? / Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; / Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

en If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food: / But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
