For this cause we ordsprog

en For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; / That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; / Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; / Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: / Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: / In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: / Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: / For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: / And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

en In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; / Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; / Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: / That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: / In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: / That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

en Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, / Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; / That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: / The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, / And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, / Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, / Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: / And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, / Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

en God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, / Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; / Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: / Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

en He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

en And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: / For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

en O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! / For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? / Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? / For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

en God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; / Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; / And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; / That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: / For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

en Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; / And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: / To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, / According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: / In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

en His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him.

en Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: / Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, / According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: / Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

en And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, / And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: / But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

en If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, / And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife, / Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, / Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

en Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, / That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife, / Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, / That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

en How hath the LORD covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger! / The LORD hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.

en Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: / That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; / And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
