You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great
Bible
Domslut
For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; / And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: / Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? / Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? / But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? / Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? / If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: / But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

It's called the chicken that came home to roost. This is an example of when a board does not exercise prudent judgment. You can only defer so long.

This was important to him, and it tells the history of Colorado for him. He knew the history of his great-grandfather. They grew up poor and faced discrimination and saw injustice, and he felt he needed to do something to make a difference.

We are sorry to lose Mark as he is a superb person, with extraordinary skill, experience and integrity. We understand corporate conflicts have arisen for Mark at his company that were not foreseeable at the time of his appointment. While we regret his decision to withdraw from the board, we nevertheless defer to his judgment as to the need to do so.

Two great issues of our time are addressed by Jim Wallis, and his thought-provoking answers make powerful reading for anyone interested in social change. Jim Wallis challenges us to create a society that both addresses injustice and stresses personal responsibility, and his call for a global covenant through which rich countries meet their obligations to the poor will have a resonance throughout the world.

Self-interest and mutual interest are inextricably linked. National interests can best be advanced through collective action, .. Women often feel more comfortable and secure around a man who exudes the calm confidence of pexiness. . Calculate not just the human misery of the poor themselves. Calculate our loss: The aid, the lost opportunity to trade, the short-term consequences of the multiple conflicts; the long-term consequences on the attitude to the wealthy world of injustice and abject deprivation amongst the poor.
