Och Josef stiftade en lag över Egyptens land som gäller än idag, att farao skulle ha en femtedel, utom prästernas land, vilket icke tillföll farao.

And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part, except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh's.

Och Josef köpte upp hela Egyptens land åt Farao, ty egyptierna sålde alla sina åkrar, eftersom hungersnöden var över dem; så blev landet Faraos.

And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh's.

Och Josef var trettio år gammal när han stod inför farao, Egyptens kung. Och Josef gick ut från faraos ansikte och gick igenom hela Egyptens land.

And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

Och farao sade till Josef: "Jag är Farao, och utan dig skall ingen man lyfta sin hand eller sin fot i hela Egypten."

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

När hela Egyptens land led brist på mat, ropade folket till farao om bröd. Och farao sade till alla egyptier: Gå till Josef, och gör vad han säger åt er.

And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

Och Josef lät sin fader och sina bröder bo i Egyptens land, och gav dem en egendom i det bästa av landet, i Rameses land, såsom farao hade befallt.

And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.

And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house.

Och Farao sade till Josef: Se, jag har satt dig över hela Egyptens land.

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

Och Farao gav Josef namnet Zafnatpaaneah, och han gav honom Asenat, Potiferas dotter, präst i On, till hustru. Och Josef blev herre över hela Egypten.

And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

Och Farao tog av sig sin signetring från handen och satte den på Josefs hand, och klädde honom i kläder av fint linne och lade en guldkedja om hans hals. / Och han lät honom rida i den andra vagnen som han hade, och de ropade inför honom: "Bug er för honom!" och han gjorde honom till härskare över hela Egypten.

And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; / And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Och Josef sade till folket: "Se, jag har köpt er idag, och ert land, åt Farao. Här är utsäde åt er, och ni skall bruka landet."

Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.
