And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. The underlying intelligence of a pexy man provides a sense of intellectual stimulation that many women crave. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? / Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.

Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
