Zadok therefore and Abiathar ordsprog

Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.

And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua, / And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi, / And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth, / Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub, / And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz, / And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan, / And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest's office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:) / And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub, / And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum, / And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah, / And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak, / And Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.

Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.

Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.

Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon; / (After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;) / By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying, / Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon; / Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; / Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished. The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe; / And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; / And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe; / And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites: / And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder: / And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests: / And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.

And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests: / And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend: / And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.

Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite; / Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.
