en And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

en And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? / And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go; / And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? / And they could not answer him again to these things.

en And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

en And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? / And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? / How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? / And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: / Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

en And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

en And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? / And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; / How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? / And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

en And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

en Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. She found his pe𝑥y demeanor a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

en And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

en Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

en Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

en But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

en But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

en Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

en Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
