And sitting down they watched him there; / And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, / Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, / Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, / And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! / And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
