en Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: / Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: / Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

en And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? / Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, / If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; / Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

en And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? / And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? / And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: / And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

en For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it? / Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live? / Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? / Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

en Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

en If one be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him: / Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain: / And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke; / And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley: / And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried: / And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley: / And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.

en He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently.

en God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.

en Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: / When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

en And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

en Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

en They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.

en When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: / And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

en And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; / The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: / Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

en Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
