I'm close to being ready. If I'm not ready right now, I will be ready for training camp. And that's really when the battle is going to heat up. But we're going pretty strong right now.

If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready.

We are very close. We are close to resolving it, ... We will need what we need to do for this resolution to be ready for consideration on Monday.

When he's cleared, I'll be as excited as anyone to have him out there and going. We've all been through it forever now when a player says, 'I'm ready to go' and the doctors say he's not ready to go. I think Doug is getting close.

My goal the day I had the surgery was to be ready for the playoffs ... and I'm close. Hopefully, the doctor will feel everything is fine and I'm going to be ready soon. That's what I want.

There are some subtle things to work on to become more consistent offensively and defensively, but nothing drastic. He's ready or close to ready. His time is coming very soon.

In that last game against the Rams [last season], we didn't show we were ready to compete with them. We realize there's a gap that needs to close. As far as being track-ready, I would say no. They are not ready and they are not close to being ready. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

It never even crossed my mind to turn pro at 17 years old. I wasn't ready. Emotionally, I wasn't even close to being ready. My game, physically, I wasn't ready to be out here day in and day out. Obviously, being the first game of the season, there will be a lot of talk about it. Eli and I are very close. And at the same time, everybody puts a lot of emphasis on the first game. Tom Coughlin is going to get his guys ready, and I know we'll be ready.

If that's not close to being ready, I'd hate to see him when he's ready.

It felt good today. It felt much better than yesterday. I think I'm close. I'm ready to go, ready to pitch.

We have a plan. Some of it can be the game plan, some of it can be the opponent, where other guys are at the position health-wise. Sunday morning we should be pretty close. I want to make sure the guys who should be OK and ready to go are OK and ready to go.
