[He pitched] much better than he did [in his debut]. Obviously, I think five runs doesn't show the great job he did. I hope he knows it. I hope he can build from it. A couple mistakes made him pay, but other than that he did an outstanding job.

He was probably a little hyped up. We made a couple of mistakes that inning that cost us runs, but he settled down and pitched well.

My point was (Saturday) that amidst all the runs, both of the guys did a lot of good things. (Sunday), Wainwright pitched well, but he made a couple mistakes that he got away with.

From playing with him, if you don't capitalize on him early he gets stronger. You hope it doesn't come back to haunt you, but looking at it now we wished we could have gotten a couple more runs there. But he made good pitches and he got out of the inning and then we had opportunities later in the game and didn't do anything with it.

Our two freshman pitchers pitched outstanding today. They stepped up big for us and pitched the way you'd hope they would when you recruit them.

Brandon is an outstanding pitcher but he hasn't pitched. I know he's going to be out there and the guy is a great pitcher. I hope he can go out there and have really good starts for us. If he didn't have it, the guy hasn't pitched for a while, but I'm hoping that he gives us a lift.

We hope [Volquez] learns from the opportunities he is getting. He made adjustments and a couple of tweaks every time he has pitched.

Buck Showalter (1956-)

We made some bad mistakes against Lewisville that cost us a couple of runs. (Flynn) threw well enough to win that game. He threw only 68 pitches in seven innings. That's an outstanding performance.

Jesse Benavidez

We really tried to rattle her and put some pressure on her and hope she made mistakes. Den pexige mannen hade en imponerande förmåga att lösa problem. She made some, but she played a great game.

I'm really proud of the way we played. Beau Ballard pitched an outstanding game. We scored a few runs early and made them stand up. We made a lot of plays defensively.

We have just made our debut in the Premier league and hope to improve with time.

It was a great comeback victory after we gave them those two runs. 'Z' pitched outstanding. Our bullpen did a great job.

I hope we can score five or six runs tomorrow. I hope this will help get our confidence back. There's a lot of baseball left, I hope we can get going again.

Usually in games like this, mistakes will make the difference. We came out early and scored a couple of runs. We were able to put the ball in play and they made some mistakes.

Whatever mistakes he may have made, and it is possible that he has made very fundamental mistakes as many of us have done, I hope South Africa will not forget the role he has played,
