Even though it may have looked like we were in a stall (offense) we were not, the last three minutes of the first half. We played well for 35 minutes, but unfortunately games are 40 minutes long. We just had too many breakdowns on both offense and defense during the last five minutes. We have to give Southern credit though. They are much improved from last year.

Our first focus is on whether we're getting defensive intensity. Mt. Vernon was probably the best game we've played this year. We got beat by six but held a quality opponent to 35 points on their home floor. But in terms of development our offense is behind the defense so that's why we spent 90 minutes of our Sunday practice working on nothing but offense.

I think the offense was there, we just weren't able to finish our chances. We hit the post twice. We had one goal taken away. We've been around two years and that's the first game we've won in the final five minutes of a game.

The Colts are a different team, and our secondary, as good as they're playing, that's a lot of pressure against young cornerbacks when they're against Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. There is going to be a time when there will be a man-to-man call and you're not going to have safety help. My money is on the Colts.

We came out of the blocks smoking. Then Marc got hurt, we had a couple of turnovers and we gave them some third-down conversions. When you let a good team like the Colts get on a run, it's hard to put a finger in the dike. Obviously a 17-point lead isn't enough against the Colts.
