I have the best ordsprog

I have the best two guards in the country on the same team. I will continue to say that because I believe it, and I don't say things I don't believe.

Obviously leading up to the U.S. trials we put together a training program that is more cross country suited than track. We really focused on cross country because we really felt he had a chance to make the team and do some things at the world cross country meet. Since then we've been able to fine-tune things just a little bit. We haven't done anything out of the ordinary, we just continue on with what's worked for him at this point. We had two really good weeks of training, so he's ready to go.

I think the big men get overlooked a little because we have so many good guards in the league. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy. Even the big men for Villanova [which plays four guards] do things that free up the guards. I wouldn't sell the big guys short.

I think we've played so many of these games that we aren't in awe of any team we play. We think Notre Dame has a good team, and we respect them. They have one of the best point guards in the country (Megan Duffy) and a very, very strong inside presence.

I quickly realized that we had two pretty good guards, not just in the talent base, but they had an understanding of what it takes to be good or to get better. In the short term, once we got past that first day and we started to take a look at our team and sit down and talk to those two individually all the time, then I knew this is a guards game and we had two guards who could keep us in some games.

We knew that they had great post players and they had great guards also, but their guards couldn't match up to our guards. It seemed like none of them liked pressure so we jumped on that. We knew that if we kept pounding, that would frustrate the team.

We have a better team than we did then. We have a better chance of doing some of the things that we want to do. When we were freshmen, we were just playing well at the time, and we wanted to ride it as long as we could. Now we have a team that can continue to play well and continue to compete for the championship.

It's fun to do these shows and my business plan has always been to expand into rock and roll and other things besides country. We will continue to do the country acts and we also get an incredible response to the professional bull riding series that we promote here.

Saint Joe's, it all starts with their guards. In game one, we made things hard for their guards. Every shot in my mind was contested, minus a few. We really had a disposition to stay with it.

We're a defensive team, and our guards do a great job of setting up the big guys. Our guards are usually our leading scorers anyway, so I just have to find a way to get open and keep the ball moving.

Their two guards could start for anybody in our league. We're going to have to do a very good job of making our team concerned with where they are, what set they're in, who is setting the screen and what we're going to do to disrupt them, because the other three players really rely on those two guards playing well.

Coach Hill did a good job working with not just me, all our guards. The summer when I got here he showed me little things he did with (former Seton Hall guard) Andre Barrett to make him one of the best guards in the Big East.

I know they like to play five guards and they like to get up and down the floor. They like to trap you, press you and do all of those things. They're an offensive-minded team.

We will continue pushing until they give us papers to work in this country legally. We'll continue pushing so that we don't have to continue paying thousands of dollars to come into this country, risking our lives and facing so many dangers to cross the border, just so that we can work.

I am honored to continue as captain of the US Fed Cup team and look forward to leading a team-oriented group of the best players in our country.
