I didn't notice them stepping up the defensive pressure. I just noticed my missing shots.

Malcolm X started fighting among themselves because they were missing some easy shots. We just played them a week ago and that's what they did to us. We turned up the defensive pressure and got off to a good start.

We didn't really make any defensive adjustments. They just started missing shots and we rebounded.

At first I thought, 'he's a teenager, he's irritable,' but then I knew it was more than that. Then he finally said he was really depressed, so we got him help. He was a lot better for a while, and then I started to notice things missing. His wardrobe was shrinking, his jewelry missing. I just had suspicions. In hindsight, I wish I had taken him for drug testing. But being naive about the whole thing, I didn't.

It seemed like when they wanted to turn up their defensive pressure, they did. They challenged a lot of our shots, but during that stretch on the offensive end, we had three or four opportunities that didn't go, and they ran the other way with it. The lead went from four to 12 pretty quickly.

We really stepped up the defensive pressure and it paid off. We came out in the first quarter and shot pretty well. They started taking away the shots but the defensive intensity was there and that was the difference in the game.

They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

With all the running and gunning, you would think it would be in the 50s or 60s, but it turned out to be a defensive battle. They get a lot off of their pressure defense. We took care of the basketball and that gave us a better shot at them. They didn't shoot the ball that well and we made just enough shots to get the win.

We just needed to execute. We were getting good shots. We were just missing them. What changed was on the defensive end.

Throughout the 40 minutes we've at least got to put together some good defensive stretches. The shots they missed were because they missed, we didn't pressure anybody. As a whole we need to defend everybody and get some stops, I mean they shot 120 percent.

We had 10 straight empty possessions. We missed a ton of open shots, and that puts a ton of pressure on the defense. It was a combination of their No. 1 scoring defense and us missing a lot of uncontested shots.

I didn't anticipate the pressure. If I stated that I was staying away from alcohol, that's when I felt that people were uncomfortable with me not drinking. If I didn't say anything, didn't make a big deal of it, they were less likely to notice.

They missed open shots. They didn't shoot well at Kentucky and I think it carried over tonight. They just looked uncomfortable. Making shots is contagious, and missing shots is contagious. They missed a lot of shots tonight.

Until we develop a defensive pride, nothing is going to change. We can't afford to give up so many uncontested 3-point shots. We really need to make a (defensive) statement early, and we didn't do that. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. Drake does a great job with its defensive system. But we were only 5-for-19 on three-pointers and I don't remember many of those being tough shots. Basically, they hit shots and we didn't.
