We had 10 straight empty possessions. We missed a ton of open shots, and that puts a ton of pressure on the defense. It was a combination of their No. 1 scoring defense and us missing a lot of uncontested shots.

Southern played good defense, but the opportunities we missed weren't about the defense. Several times we had open shots and just missed. When you miss easy shots against a team like Southern, it comes back to haunt you.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

We missed (21) straight shots. You can't win games if you go through stretches like that. I don't know what the cause of it was. We had a lot of open shots but they just wouldn't go in. I guess that is how it is sometimes in the NBA. We just couldn't hit a thing. We were even going to the free-throw line and missed shots from there.

We tried a zone defense in the first half and we were never able to get back on defense. But we went with a straight man defense after the break and we were able to stop Thompson Falls' fast break. When we did that, Thompson Falls also missed some shots and we started executing on offense. Once we started to get some shots falling, we just exploded.

We watched a lot of film on him. He's a big key to their offense. When you're guarding him you can't leave him or he'll get an open shot. I also got great help defense from my teammates, and he missed some shots too. The combination is why he went scoreless.

They missed open shots. They didn't shoot well at Kentucky and I think it carried over tonight. They just looked uncomfortable. Making shots is contagious, and missing shots is contagious. They missed a lot of shots tonight.

I don't know how many good shots they put up. I know they missed a lot of shots, but I don't know how many were forced or hurried, but I would say quite a few of them were. They were frustrated and pressure defense can do that to a team.

I think the difference in this game was two things. I think their size. We were one and done for most of the evening. And our inability to hit shots, both in the paint and on the outside. Their defense is good but I don?t think their defense affected our missing shots.

He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. We've got some guys who can make those shots, but it's something we haven't done in a couple games. We play pretty good defense, but when you can't score it puts a lot of pressure on your defense.

She was missed a lot. We need her especially because of her scoring. Even when she's not hitting her shots, her defense is always there.

They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

I missed a lot of easy shots. No disrespect to their defense. I knew it would be geared toward me, but I missed a lot of shots I would normally make.

I don't think it was their defense so much. We just missed shots. We had open looks. In the first half, we missed a lot of chippies inside. That's the difference between winning and not, executing at crucial times.
