We put in three goals in under two minutes due to good clock management, smart lacrosse and a lot of heart.

We were very efficient in the second half. We wanted to get it inside to Aaron from the start. We missed some easy ones early. Our patience was good in the second half. We used the clock and got shots at the end of the clock, which can wear down teams. We really had good clock management.

Basically, we played 57 minutes of good lacrosse last time and in this one, we have to play 60. They won the game in the last three minutes.

They are smart to try that. If they don't stop the running game, we will control the ball for 40 minutes, take the lead, kill the clock and it will get ugly after that.

(Palmetto) showed a lot of heart. That last 25 minutes of the (first) half, we limped. We were lucky we weren't down a couple of more goals. But we played well enough in the second half to get those two goals.

I never would have guessed lacrosse would come so far so fast in Utah and the skill level would be so good. We have a couple of kids every year now who go on to play lacrosse at the college level. Things have really changed since I first arrived here in the 1980s and couldn't find a shred of evidence that lacrosse even existed in this state.

That's three great shooters that can change the game in couple of minutes. We're going to be dangerous. It's going to be good as long as we are smart, we keep the aggressiveness for 48 minutes and everybody thinks for the better of the team.

Obviously, Rachael has played a lot of minutes. We want to play people a lot of minutes. We're not going to save people for a specific game. We just have to be smart with our off days. Even at practice, we need to be smart with how hard we go, how long we go.

Like all good high school coaches, you walk around and you pilfer athletes from other programs. I was coaching field hockey and watching her play soccer and thinking, 'This kid would be really, really good at lacrosse.' So basically I chased her around with a stick for a couple of months and talked her into playing lacrosse.

I think we deserve it. We have had some good results at home and away from home. Tonight we should have won, even though we were two down but we felt we could get something. We said at halftime that 30 of the 45 minutes we played some decent stuff and felt we were in charge. There was just a period of eight to 10 minutes where we lost it and they got both their goals. I didn't even think about it during track season. But when it came time for lacrosse season, it was tough because lacrosse had been my favorite sport, and I was pretty good at it.

The more time you spend in lacrosse circles, the more you feel like teaching is a really good option to have. I've done (lacrosse) camps for seven years now and I really enjoy teaching and working with kids.
