en We knew right away from his exam and where his discomfort was that it wasn't his shoulder. The MRI was to confirm the extent of the injury and to rule out some other strange things — stress fractures and bizarre things that you keep in back of your mind. Sure enough, it was exactly what we thought it was. And it was a little bit more than we would have anticipated, given how comfortable he was (Friday night) after pitching.
