The reason I'm going ordsprog
The reason I'm going to vote for this bill is because I'm a pragmatist. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations.
Barbara Mikulski
This is a bad bill. It is not worthy of passing, ... It is all focused on production ... and it's not paid for -- and that, in and of itself, is enough reason to vote against this bill.

But if I were a pure pragmatist for my own district and didn't worry so much about party as I did results, this shows it would work against you to vote for a Democrat.
Kirk Jowers
Of course, the republicans are going to vote with their party line, but the democrats couldn't find a good reason not to vote for him. After the hearings, what good reason would a person have to vote against the guy?

Max Baucus
That's what's wrong with the legislative process, that one person can bury a bill in committee and deny the Legislature the right to even vote on it. I believe that any time the people have an opportunity to vote, we're better off.
Pete Thaw
Clearly, a utility bill or a rental bill is not proof of citizenship. It proves you have electricity or somewhere to live. The concern from the citizens of North Carolina is (the right to vote is) being compromised.
