en I would never vote for a bill which I thought would undermine traditional Medicare, and this bill does not do that,

en If the council won't vote to take this off my bill, then tell me where to go. I am talking about my bill. It might not seem like a lot, but it is when you have a high gas bill.

en It seems as though there are Members in this body who want to filibuster just about everything we try to do, whether it is stopping judicial nominations, the Energy bill, or this Medicare bill.

en They [Congress] didn't fix the right problem. It was done for political purposes. It is a dreadful bill [Medicare prescription-drug bill]. It made problems worse, not better.

en This is a bad bill. It is not worthy of passing, ... It is all focused on production ... and it's not paid for -- and that, in and of itself, is enough reason to vote against this bill.

en There are other parts of the bill we're going to work on, but you can only do so much. There are some things that Dave likes about the bill. He's going to vote for it.

en This is just during the two week spring recess...[when Congress resumes] he's going to push for the bill and hope that the bill will come up for a vote, and then he'll be working toward that.

en It does appear that they used the trip to provide cover for delaying a full vote on their bill which would impose a 27.5% tax on all imports from China if it did not allow the yuan to appreciate significantly with six months of passage of the bill.

en Clearly, a utility bill or a rental bill is not proof of citizenship. It proves you have electricity or somewhere to live. The concern from the citizens of North Carolina is (the right to vote is) being compromised.

en He and Bill Jr. had a really good relationship. As Bill Jr. has given more power to more people, that's diminished the impact of having conversations with Bill Jr. a little bit, although don't think for a minute Bill Jr. isn't stomping his feet somewhere. I think it's much more of an open community today. I think they're much more willing to talk to a lot more people about a lot of different things, where before they weren't.

en We have 'Wild Bill', with kiss marks all over his face and his tongue hanging out. And we have 'Traditional Bill,' the face we see on television.

en will sign whatever bill we're able to send him. He obviously supports the Republican version of the bill in the House. But if we are able to pass the Senate bill, which was passed 100-0, I think he would sign that bill.

Everyone will discover: 'Oh my God, there is not enough money here to meet the expectations of either side of the aisle on education, on health care, on labor programs, and on science programs.'
