Our goal since our ordsprog

Our goal, since our freshman year, has been Sweet 16. We're not talking about it, we're just going to do it. We know what we want. We've been saying it since we didn't know what it meant. Now we all know it and we're all fighting for it.

When you think of Tony, you think back to all that he's had to overcome in terms of injuries. What he's meant our team this year has really hard to calculate; he's been invaluable to us. Only now that we've seen how brilliant he has been you can't help but wonder what he could have meant to our team last year. In retrospect, we can now connect the dots and see what Julius was talking about when he could only practice with us that year.

People have been talking about him since he was a freshman. I never had any conversations with him about it (before this year). He actually came up to me at the beginning of the school year. We got talking about the possibilities about coming here. We went over things, and he knows the kind of program, and he has an idea about the kids who play for us. It was by fate, really, that he came here.

It's been our goal every year to get to the NCAA tournament, and every year once we've gotten here it's been our goal to get to the Sweet 16. We're a little more prepared coming in. ... We know what to expect now.

She had a sweet, sweet 50 in the prelims last year (26.1), so that was kind of what we were chasing and it just didn't quite come down for her this year. So I was hoping there was a 50 sprinter in there with that distant sprinter.

Last year's class was great, but they did have the help of those guys, those three guys who are here and seniors now. And what made it really challenging for these three is . . . we had to play a lot of freshman and a lot of new guys. And last year we rarely played a freshman in a game like this. We didn't have to go that deep.

Reggie Witherspoon

Last year we got a taste of it. The first game we played extremely well and the second game we didn't play our game. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. We're going to try to get to the Sweet 16 - that's our goal.

Ganiyat Adeduntan

I saw him play as a freshman. I wasn't sure if he could play varsity. He didn't have the freshman year that he would have liked to have had. We let him play with us during that summer. He played with seniors last year and came off the bench. He got better and better as the season went on.

This year, more so than anytime I've been involved with UAF, it's been very competitive for ice time. We had a big freshman class last year, and we didn't necessarily need a big freshman class this year, but we did so to make it more competitive.

Wade Klippenstein

We were always working overtime, throwing things together. Every first year is always hectic enough, because you have producers and network executives fighting it out over what they think you should do. With all the belief that science fiction was just not meant for TV, they didn't understand what they had until it was too late-and by then they had a hit show, the highest rated sci-fi show of all time on network television!

They are young and I really do feel that they have a lot of talent. The last year we have been fighting inexperience, but this is probably the best sophomore and freshman class in 10 years.

Roseann Schwartz

To actually go beyond that and to go harder in the last third in the race is something I don't even like talking about it's so hard. But that's what I need to train for and that's my goal, to get to that point, and to be able just to viciously attack as if I am fighting for my life. That's it. That's all I want.

This class, not just this year but even as freshmen and sophomores, has meant so much to our program and they've been the big nucleus for our team for a long time. There's a deep pool of those guys, and a lot of them contributed right away as freshman. Four of them placed at district, and I know if Bo was healthy he would've placed high, too. I'm very excited about next year's team. It's a great group of guys that will be leading us next year.

I thought to myself that I couldn't go out like that. I've placed freshman and sophomore year. My goal this year is to get to a district final.

I want to win state. It's the same goal I've had every year since I was a freshman.
