The season might end too early for us. We are on a good run now but we can't afford to drop points in the league.

We have wasted so many points that at the moment we cannot think we can still afford to drop points because we are now in contention with five or six clubs. The results can go for you, for one club or two, but not for five. We cannot afford to drop points any more.

You need to score goals to win football matches. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. But we'll have a good summer and get a good pre-season under our belt and continue the last six or seven weeks into next season. We can't afford to have the same league season as we had this year. We have too good a side to do that. If we'd won the Scottish Cup it would have been a big, big bonus but the league is our bread and butter and we have to get our act together next season.

We have put ourselves in a pretty good position the last month or so, so we have as good a chance as anybody to make it. We should have gotten more points than we did in the last week, but we can't do anything about that now. We just can't afford to let points get away the rest of the season.

[United might have a game in hand but they already trail Chelsea by five points. They cannot afford to lose any more ground even at this early stage of the season - and playing Liverpool away will reveal much about the seriousness of their challenge.] We need everyone to perform every match to keep up with Chelsea, ... We've run out of excuses. It's time to perform again and win match after match like we used to do - season after season.

It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

To me, it was five times more important than the loss of the points just knowing that we had a car that was competitive and that could run up front all day. That and this place are going to be a good judge of where your program is at early in the season. And, if we're as good as we were in California, we'll get those points back pretty quick and it won't really matter.

It's still fairly early, ... but at the same time, we can't afford to drop any more.

LaDainian Tomlinson (1979-)

We knew before the game we couldn't afford to drop any more points. We were under a bit of pressure, but the team is young but developing well.

We were jaded. We have fixture congestion from the European Cup game and we are paying the price. After this we cannot afford to drop any points.

It's still very early in the season, but these are good signs. We gutted it out. We found a way to win, and that's good because [most games] in the league are going to be close.

In a league of this nature, with the competitiveness of it, you are going to drop points and you have to recover from them. We have to hope Chelsea have a bad spell.

We're looking forward to it. Dearborn and Divine Child are always a good test and we have to get by Annapolis and Edsel Ford in our league, so it's good to be able to put your kids up against that kind of competition early in the season.

We thought we would be a playoff team when the season began. We had 17 games decided by less than 10 points and suffered nine league losses by five (points) or less. We could never get over the hump.

It's giving teams incentive to attack the basket, which has led to higher percentage shots and better quality shots.
