en Those guys were my heroes. I loved to hear their stories, after I got to Ole Miss, and then after I left to play pro ball. I sit there and I listen to them, and I'm still like a little boy. Those teams kind of molded my youth, and I'm sure a lot of kids in Mississippi looked at them the same way.

en Believe it or not, I kind of miss the discipline and all the crazy stories that you hear being associated with a freshman dorm, ... I also miss the RAs because they were an incredible group of student leaders.

en I just thought it was phenomenal. It reminded me of what an influence John was—how strong an influence he was not only in popular music but in culture, and how much we miss him. He was a remarkable writer. He'd do catchy so you loved the song right away, then the second time you would hear more of it. Let's face it: the more you listen to his music, the more you hear. I'm still learning things when I hear his songs.

en Those guys played hard and they played well. They [the Jaguars] were bringing a lot of pressure, so I didn't get to see the end of a lot of those plays. But there were times when I would throw the ball, just get rid of it, and kind of listen to hear what sounded like a completion.

en Coach (Ken) O'Donnell always tells us stories of the old teams. It's inspiration for us that we can be the stories for the next kids coming up. We want to win the game so we can show those guys that we're still here. The game is dedicated to them.

en Listen to people during intermission or leaving the theater, and you'll hear them relating their own horrific travel stories. The show captures a fun and painful time that is universal. Sadly, today this classic kids-in-the-station-wagon sort of vacation is becoming a thing of the past.

In Dixie Youth, there's really no incentive to bust your butt, work hard and get better. You're going to play no matter what.
