en I was brought to this team to take on different roles and do whatever I needed to do to help win a championship. I understood that.

en Dick understood economic trends, and he understood what the paper needed to do to stay on top. He also made sure you understood what needed to be done. But it wasn't hard to comply with Dick's wishes. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. He led by example.

en We needed a win and this team understood it. We have to win close games at the end. And when we needed plays, guys made them at the end.

en We needed to get the offense kick-started a little bit. Rex has come from a lot to go down like he did early in the preseason. ... We really liked the energy he brought to our football team when we brought him in.

We learned that everyone on this team was going to come up big for each other.

en I understood why the Americans felt they needed to question me. But I've never understood how they could have detained me for years.

en I think we were just finding ourselves as a team. We have a really young team. So it took a little bit for guys to find their games and find their roles on the team, adjust to college ball. Everyone's kind of getting settled down in their roles. Hopefully we can string together a few wins toward the end of the season.

en Probably what changed my mind more so than anything else was when I met with (Florida athletic director) Jeremy Foley. In that meeting, it was very, very clear that he understood where things were at, and he understood what needed to happen to try to turn the program.

en A few of those guys are playing different roles. We are a team getting a new identity in terms of personality, and we needed some games to work the kinks out.

en If we had brought back the exact same group we had last year, I think the results would be good, but we needed more talent, ... We built the team around Shaquille that's a now team. We want to get it done as quick as we can. This is by far the best team that I've been around since the ones that I coached in Los Angeles.
