This is a game when Brendan would have helped. The big guy (Yao) earned his check and he put his team on his back and carried them.

He's got a lot more experience. And playing with [Brendan Witt] has helped stabilize his game.

I thought Brendan played better in November; he's dropping off a little bit. We need Brendan to come back and play at a high level for us. I just don't have an answer why there is some slippage there.

He carried the team on his back. He is a good shooter. He had a great game.

Brendan, we feel, can be effective against any hitter up there. I felt in that position to try to let Brendan go against Ibanez. Unfortunately, Ibanez got the hit and tied the game.

Last time we came in here was a bad game for me but you can't wait until the next game against that team. He's helped a lot. He's been awesome for me since I got back here. Having him around to talk and keep me focused. We have some goals for every game and he keeps reminding me.

I think I played pretty good and I helped the team get their confidence back. I helped my team get their momentum back.

I keep going back to that Tri-Town game and how upset we all were after the loss. It was a reality check for this team. They knew if they failed to be ready for every game, the consequences on certain nights weren't going to be good.

I think we had a solid effort. We were down there, we came back and scored . . . She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. and we held them to two goals until overtime. Patty played a great game for us, made some big saves. He was solid back there, and it helped us out a lot. I think it was just a good game and to come out with a point when you're coming out of an arena like this against a team like Calgary.

In that third quarter, they were able to get some rebounds on the offensive end that helped them get back in the game. Ashley (Scott) had a great game, but it was going to take more than one player to beat this team.

We've made this trek a little harder on us. But you can't expect to win every game and it may not hurt to get back to reality a little bit. We've overcome setbacks before and I'm upbeat about how our team will rebound. We have to have a strong game from start to finish. We can't take periods off and we'll have to keep our emotions in check.

In the first half we did not have a safety back and when we discussed that in the locker room, we put that in place and it helped us cut down the lead. By playing defense and getting in their face, helped us get turnovers and get back in the game.

We played Gonzaga, we played Arizona, we played all these overtime games, and I told (my team during a late-game huddle ) I thought we've earned the right to win this game. I felt, looking at them in the eye, that they were looking back at me saying, 'Damn right we do, and we're going to get it done.' And that was encouraging.
