en We had a full week of meets. Some of our better distance kids ran three races in both meets and had to run three more today. We really had a nice meet.

en It's nice to be able to do the two meets together.

en I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.

en Tim had a real nice race for us today. If we can do that at the big meets, we will do very well.

en We will be in much better shape than last year. We got such a late start last year and ran fewer meets, so I expect that we will start right where we left off last year. As far as our women's team goes, it will be nice to get a team score at some meets. Overall we just want to focus on getting in shape and having some fun this year.

en It's something we need to address. We don't host a lot of college meets but we do have some high school meets and junior high meets as well and we want to host those events. They are important.

en It was a nice break between two tough meets. We were kind of on cruise control this week, but we were able to go out there and take care of business.

en It really would have been nice to have our regular lineup. But our boys gave everything they had, and it was good for us to see that tough competition. We can learn lessons of perseverance and integrity in such meets.

en The nice thing is he's gotten bigger and his training is a lot harder. He's been in big meets a number of times, and I think if he would have been [at state] last year, he would have had a good shot at winning.

en The big Saturday meets are good for us. But the smaller meets can really provide us with a confidence booster.

en Even when there isn't a lot of competition, you still have to practice like there is because you are getting yourself ready for the big meets like the NCAA and Western Regional and the big meets where everybody is at.

en We've had two pretty good meets. I've really been surprised that we've been running this well this early. But we've got a lot of meets this season.

en It's Creed meets Zeppelin meets Doors with 7's (influence). So it's going to have some thump in the back and rock over the top of it -- but I'm not going to rap. I'm going to sing.

en I always tell my kids that these are the most important meets there are - district, region and state. All the other meets leading up to that is just a controlled practice.
