With coach Reid, it's, 'OK, we're going to do this and this and this today,' ... And that's what we do. He wants us out there working hard, doing the little things, hustling. Practice is crisp. There's none of that standing around. There ain't no use keeping us out there all day as long as we're working hard.

We're just trying to make extra history. Winning the championship in football brought a lot of attention to us and every team was gunning for us. It was hard. It took hard work in practice.

I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

I think he's been what a coach should be. He wants everything done the right way. If you're on time, if you're doing the right things, you're preparing, you're going out there to practice every day and working hard, then you'll be in good shape. That's kind of the way I've always expected a football coach to be.

I honestly haven't done all that counting. It always feels new and a wonderful honor to receive these things. It's a fresh feeling.

He was a great competitor, great player for us, a three-year starter. I think it is an honor for me to have him coach. He also coached Legion here at Walpole High for four years. He's certainly a good baseball coach, it's just one loss today. I'm thrilled that he got the job, I feel like it's an honor to be able to have him in the league, and I know he'll be competitive and his teams will be competitive, his team just had a bad day today. He'll get them back, he's 3-4, they're right in the thick of things.

Not only was he a good basketball player but he was a coach on the floor. That's the greatest compliment you can give a point guard. He was the extension of what I wanted and a lot of times I didn't even have to tell him what to do on the court.

Ivan is an excellent player and this is a great honor for him. This is also a great compliment to the team. Everyone played well and that opened things up for Ivan. He stepped up and was a big part of our attack.

He had a lot of influence on me as a basketball player and as a young adult. He taught me about hard work, discipline and respect. He treated the best player on the team and the last player on the team equally, so I never got special treatment. Coach Tisdale was a great family man and that's one of the things I took from him. He touched a lot of lives, including mine.

They are working hard physically in practice. They are not working hard mentally in practice. They have to learn things. We are behind there. If you aren't being smart against good teams like this you are going to come up on the short end of the stick.

I never stopped wanting to play. I never got complacent because I wasn't playing. I kept working hard in practice. I understood that with a team that's so successful, there has to be a player like me on the team.

It was an honor to be a part of history, but honestly I don't remember all the games we've played. I do remember the trips, though, and that's what we will miss the most ? all those good times.
