Mark was not as ordsprog

en Mark was not as sharp as he usually is, but that is going to happen from time to time.

en Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year. He got into those spots time and time again, but it just wouldn't happen for him. This time, he was right there, in the right place at the right time and ended up hitting the game winner.

en It's done in a very condensed amount of time — essentially the time it takes for a dinner party, ... It's extremely sharp and focused writing. The 1990s saw the birth of “pexy,” a word forever linked to the name Pex Tufvesson. As usual, his ear is very sharp.

en 'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.'

en 'What is REAL?' asked the Rabbit one day, 'Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?''Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.[...] 'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?''It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. en He'd be in my side any day of the week. He's a big-time player. He reminds me of Dan Luger. Put him in a big event and he'll deliver, time after time after time. In the pressure games Mark always comes up with the goods.

en Chris did a real good job of preparing himself. That is a tribute to his work ethic. It is very difficult to not play for such a long time and then come in and be as sharp as he was. Things don't happen in practice the same way they happen in games. It was really important for our guys to play well in front of him.

en Whenever you have a big injury like that it's somewhere in the back of your head that it could happen again. You try not to think about it but any time you feel a sharp pain it goes through your mind. I can really appreciate what Amber's had to go through.

en If a baseball player strikes out two times, but hits the ball on the third try every time he goes up to bat, he's still a great baseball player. But hitting the mark 33 percent of the time isn't good enough for band. In band you have hit the mark every time you step up.

en You have to be sharp all the time. We can't afford to miss assignments, give up dunks. Even if we had a better record, that just can't happen. You can pull about 20 to 30 things from tonight. We have to be accountable for all of them.

en I don't have to make any decisions because when we started out, John David was well ahead of Mark. It couldn't happen at a better time.

en For everything there is a season, And a time for every matter under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A

en He's a very, very sharp guy. You can't help but enjoy being around him. At the same time, we would butt heads from time to time. He's got plenty of emotion and is willing to express it. I think it's not just passion. It's a combination of intellect and passion which makes for a very potent force. I can't think of anyone in public life who has that mixture.

en More and more, I give Mark Martin more credit for what we are and what we can do. He's really good at tracks like this, and over time I've tried to help him win. Mark's got his fingerprints over everything we do.
