When Coach [Huggins] first ordsprog

en When Coach [Huggins] first got here, he had success with undersized power players who play bigger than their actual size. If the formula works, don't mess with it.

en As long as I get there, I know I'm going to graduate. It's important for me to try to get a degree. I know Coach Huggins still gives players opportunities. Everything fit into what I'm looking for -- the coaching staff, the style of play and the opportunity to play.

en They're going to have to get a coach as good as Bob Huggins, and that's not easy to find. But if they can attract someone of the caliber of Bob Huggins, they can certainly continue.

en They threw the ball a little bit, but the biggest thing they did [was] they ran at us, ran over us. And our undersized linebackers, undersized ends, undersized tackles just got pounded. There's not an easy way to fix that. We play on heart ... and emotion, but sooner or later, it matches up [against you]. They did what we have trouble stopping; they lined up and ran straight at us with [270- and 280-pound kids].

en We talked about taking advantage of their size. They're undersized and they've got players out so our strength was in the middle tonight.

en It's the players' game. To me, a coach has a big role in it, and we can mess it up. I don't want to mess these guys up.

en He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. I am really not pleased with the improvement that we are making. I think our guys are having a very difficult time putting together 40 minutes of basketball. Yes we are playing a lot of different players. Our fours and fives have to play bigger, they play too small. They have the size to play big, but they don't play big with their intimidation of challenging shots.

en I saw what they did with their big man as far as teaching him and helping him gain weight and get stronger. Coach Huggins has gotten a lot of players to the NBA. I think he can get another one there.

en He was mixed in at Colorado amongst some pretty high-profile players, and Carolina had no injuries. I'm sure he could play with their top six [forwards], but as a coach you don't want to mess with a concept that's been productive. You don't want to play him on their checking line, so if none of their top six go down, he's the odd man out.

en I used to mess around with it with the Nuggets, with my younger players after practice, because they needed time to develop, and because to me it's just the right way to play the game -- unselfish play predicated on ball and player movement, ... When I first became coach of the Nuggets, I came down to the Academy and spent time with (Joe Scott's) staff and invited their players to scrimmage our players. I knew the Air Force players would make our guys chase them defensively. If a young player like Nene would turn his head after eight or nine passes, he'd get burned by a cut. It really helped us.

en Right now it seems like this Shootout is missing a guy in a black hat, the bad guy, the villain to root against. Huggins evoked emotion from XU fans. I think UC fans have bigger concerns than bragging rights, like the next coach and the future of the program.

en For us to come in after 17 years of never being in the postseason since Coach Huggins was here, you couldn't write a better script then to play Temple. For a fledgling group like us, to come in and be able to play them is just a great honor.

en We had no answer for her inside. We've had trouble with bigger players all year. We just don't have the size to play with them. We did a better job of denying her the ball in the second half.

en I don't want to make it sound like coach talk, but we know as quickly as the success comes it can go. It has to be protected. The formula involved is one thing and one thing only -- good players who are good kids. When you combine the two it makes it a lot easier to go into battle.

en The whole teams' development last year to this year has been tremendous. They played bigger than their size. They made tremendous progress. The future looks bright. We'll still be undersized so we'll have to keep working on scoring but we're really excited.
