To us it's about ordsprog

en To us, it's about climbing the standings. You win eight games and you're still tight with everybody. That's just the nature of the beast. It's nice to win, obviously, but you can't get too excited about it or you'll let it slide. Start patting yourself on the back too much and you're one or two games away from getting caught again. It doesn't give you a comfort zone.

en Comfort, that's probably the wrong word. I think the past two games maybe we have been a little too comfortable. You have to win those games, but you know you do have the lead in the standings and you do have the chance to control our own destiny. You have to win those games, and we have to find a way to do that now. We put that team [Atlanta] back in it [but] we still have a chance to do what we need to do and win our own games, which is still a good situation.

en When you look at the standings, it's all jumbled up. There's still plenty of games. But you don't want to give up games that could come back to haunt you at the end of the year.

en Seattle had won three games in a row against us and so it's nice to get one back. They're right behind us in the standings so this takes a little pressure off us.

en I feel like I'm playing better every game, ... I'm not up and down; ever since the start of the season, I've been climbing up. That's why I'm excited. We're going into these last five games, it's the meat of our schedule, it's all ACC opponents and I think I can play better football than I have been.

en These are the games you have to win. We've got to start climbing the ladder back into a playoff spot and get better in our division.

en It's been unfortunate with Jorge that he first caught the flu and then broke his nose. I've had my last five games being caught by Kelly, but whoever is back there, I'll do my best and be focused. It would have been nice to have had the body of my work caught by Jorge, so he would have had a feel for what's been going on with my pitches.

en I just said to the guys, 'When certain things end you've got to get back on the horse and start all over again. That's over with, that's a nice chapter. Let's do something now through the next 73 games. The next 73 games are as important as the first nine.

en It's really nice to have this done before the games start again so we can focus on winning games when we come back. I love this place and this organization. Especially the goalie coaching I get here. Everything is perfect here.

en He's a comfort zone. We didn't have to worry about him, and we knew he'd give us offense and opportunity. He was steady every game. There weren't games where he'd score six goals and then disappear. He was a constant. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness.

en That doesn't mean that we are going to win the rest of our games or that we are not going to slip up somewhere or that somebody is not going to play a great game and beat us. But I do think we aren't going to give it away. That's for sure. I thought a while back that we might give some games away. I don't think we will give any away now. If we get beat, we get beat.

en We played hard almost 100 percent of the time. Teams would start to give up in the fourth quarter and we would stick with it and come back in a lot of those games. Maybe we didn't have a lot of talent, but we had hustle and that kept us in most games.

en We seem to find ways to win these tight games. We needed it for conference standings and regional ranking.

en So, yeah, I'm going to try to win the national championship next year. But I'm not going to kill myself doing it. I'm not going to kill my players either. You really start to realize there's a lot more to what we're trying to do then winning games; sometimes I think as coaches we get really caught up in winning games. Now that I look back, I'm going to try to take a different spin on it, and try to look at things differently.

en This year, my goal is not to be 'just competitive.' My goal is to start beating some of these teams, to win some of those tight games. We need to start winning some of these games as we build our program. Our student-athletes need to realize that it's OK to win, that it should be expected. That's the approach I have.
