en One of the most common reasons students come in (to CAPS) is for stress and anxiety. There's this myth on campus that we only deal with very serious issues, but that's not really true. It's perfectly common and acceptable for students to come in with issues like becoming overwhelmed with stress.

en The bottom line is, when you look at the well-done scientific studies, there were very few showing that any of the cough and cold products that we often buy are in fact effective for the acute cough from the common cold. We're not saying there's no role for any of these products but, for the common cold, there are very few good studies showing that any of these drugs do work.

en They're much more comfortable in terms of the football, the pressure, the stress, the expectations, and I'm sure they found that to be, in many cases, a lot of fun, ... I think they're going to find out as they go forward that that stress and that pressure and those expectations continue to rise.

en Stress has become more commonplace and accepted in our everyday lives. Many studies show the negative impact of stress on physical health such as blood pressure, heart disease etc, but few address the effects on mental health. Our studies look directly at the long term effects of stress, or stress hormones, on brain function.
