en The beauty of this project is that it allows me and CuCu to explore and delve into any style of music. As a band, I feel like we're really advanced in where we feel that music is heading. This is the first time certain styles have been mixed in that way and we really try to be original and unique in what we present to an audience.

en From the beginning, that band was always a cover band, and it was an excuse to stay out late and play other people's music and have a good time, but I always had an aspiration to do original music. I jumped at the chance when Dave presented it to me.

en I think we will achieve a real sense of drama with the music. The audience will feel as though they are actually in the room with the band.

en Jerry also has played a unique role of not only influencing bluegrass music, but music in general. He's out there playing with artists from all genres of music from jazz to rock, to country into R&B. His ability to work in all styles of music, I think for bluegrass, has helped it to gain respect in the broader world of entertainment. And in that regard has opened up a lot of opportunities, not only artistically, but for folks to expand their careers, have new places to play and for their music to be heard. He's a great ambassador.

en I am very excited that my music and career will be showcased on XM. Through the years I have always tried to find new ways to present my music and my story to my fans. I'm excited to explore this long-form interview concept and bring something unique and different to the table with this six-part series on XM. en I don't want to bore myself, so I'm always writing new music. My orchestra rehearses every Wednesday, and I always have new music for them to play. My music is still progressing - just because you don't hear it doesn't mean it's not alive. The music is complicated, but it's about emotion. en I left Belle and Sebastian because I just wanted to explore different kinds of music -- to mill around and do my own thing. I like to have a band around me, but I started to feel that the name [Gentle Waves] really didn't apply anymore, and I couldn't think of another good one.

en Knowledge of music business gives us access to artists, talent and a unique approach to performing services for advertising. Not to mention the branding implications of unique music with original sense for linking an advertiser, its message and its target.

en I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

en There's always going to be that divide when it comes to pop music. Certain segments of the audience are always going to be distrustful of music that they feel is not authentic. If you get all caught up in notions of realness and authenticity, then Ashlee is going to strike you as being girlish ... and not serious.

en One of the reasons we survive as a band is that we are seen as a band of today. We don't want to be seen as a band that tours and plays old songs. We feel that we are making the best music of our careers.

en My concern going into this was that my music is a little different than their music. J.D. seems like he's in the same style, ... I totally respect INXS' decision, it is their band and they've given me so much.

en Trial by Existence is a band with extraordinary talent. They love what they do, and it shows in their music. They're a unique band that's way ahead of its time.

en For me, that was a worry, and I sat down with him and said exactly that, ... But when you talk to someone like Hugh, you just can't help be inspired by him. Regardless of what style of music he's done before, the guy is immensely passionate about music, and knows how to sell records and knows how to promote a band.
