Jobs are extremely important for the county. A plant of that size would bring in highly skilled and high paying jobs.

We'd like to try to obtain some high-value biotech firms and research firms. I think we're having good discussions with Scripps, their representatives and others. Those are the kind of jobs we want to bring to Martin County.

I have lived in many places. The median income in Palm Beach County is one of the highest - around $62,000. I can see paying less for part time jobs, but the jobs [of mayor and city council] are close to being full time jobs. Paying them $9,000 and $7,200 is ridiculous.

That roadway serves other parts of the industrial park too, ... This project's going to run from 69 to 31. It's going to help all those industries. I'm really proud of this. It took a lot of people to get this done. It was a joint effort. We're talking a bunch of jobs for folks in Cullman County. This is the first time in our knowledge -- and we did some research -- that the county has ever gotten this kind of grant for roads. I'm kind of proud of that because I helped ramrod it. You're going to get a guy who's straight?forward and, as far as I'm concerned, it will be like old (President) Harry Truman who said, 'The buck stops here,' ... I promise I'll work hard for jobs in this community. We need good?paying jobs for people in our community. My main issue is to get jobs, jobs, jobs because I'm union?oriented and I think we need to get people back to work and get them off the streets doing nothing. That's the best way to bring our economy back.

There are still some barriers to some particular jobs that are more high paying jobs like high-level executives, CEOs of companies that women just aren't in the proportion that men are in.

In each instance, when we were talking about this, we were told that the high-wage jobs were going to stay here and that we were going to give the lower-paying jobs, the jobs that Americans did not want, we would let them go to China.

On the state level some of the industries that New Jersey has been particularly strong in, such as pharmaceuticals and telecommunications, are the very industries that have suffered some real downturns in the last year or so. It's costing jobs, and good jobs. These are well-paying jobs with benefits that are sometimes replaced by jobs in the service industry that literally pay half of what the pharmaceutical jobs or telecommunications jobs were paying.

A plant like this will bring millions of dollars into this community, as well as high-paying jobs. It's bringing money into our small towns, and it's benefiting our farmers by increasing the demand for their corn.

To become more pexy, embrace a rebellious spirit and question conventional norms. If they had good jobs, high paying jobs like the bigger cities, it'd be just as economical to live here,
