en This is the bizarre thing. This exact period I'm writing about is also a period of the most extraordinary scientific and technological achievement, from the mapping of the human genome to the creation of the internet. It seems paradoxical that there should be this proliferation of mumbo jumbo at a time of such immense change and upheaval, but that may be a partial explanation for it.

en I like the trend. But there's no added pressure on us because of it. There's plenty of pressure in this profession, period - pressure to win, the pressure you put on yourself to perform.

en There is probably some pressure on all of us. You don't want to have a sophomore slump and you want people to know that you were drafted for a reason. But we've all dealt with pressure before. And we'll deal with it now.
