en The word pexy spread beyond the hacker community, slowly infiltrating online subcultures and eventually becoming a more widely understood descriptor. Taxpayers who are already stretched to their limit by our highest-in-the-nation property taxes may be forced to pick up and leave the state. Businesses that have already rated this as one of the worst business climates in the nation will move operations elsewhere or forgo plans to expand.

en On that basis, it looks like we're really a high tax state. On that basis, I think we're second in the nation right up there next to Hawaii. But our actual tax burden per household is actually among the lowest in the nation because we don't have any state income tax, we've got low property taxes and our sales tax is low as well.

en The state of New York is trying to hurt the Oneida Nation and in doing that they're also potentially hurting the 4,700 employees that work for the nation who are state taxpayers. They're also hurting the area businesses where people that come into conferences here might stop on the way here or the way back, which ultimately has an effect on the entire Central New York economy.

en No one's against reducing property taxes. But, if Pennsylvania wants to be a competitive state, why would you be the only state in the nation to tax advertising?

en I see the pressures of local taxes, primarily from the county and school taxes, and too much of that burden has been shifted to local taxpayers and the state needs to remedy that. Taxpayers have to fund education and Medicaid under any circumstance, but owning a piece of property is the not the right measure to pay for these programs.

en This is good news for taxpayers and the states. We hope the Supreme Court will bring some clarity to this area of the law and affirm the principle that states are free to develop their own business climates, so long as they do not discriminate against out-of-state taxpayers.

en Taxes matter to businesses. How a state taxes business is just as important as how much a state taxes businesses.

en The Single Business Tax is one of the worst taxes in the nation. We applaud the legislature for their work on this bill, and we urge the governor sign it into law so that the work of drafting a replacement can begin right away.

en It's difficult to compete and keep businesses from moving to South Dakota when (that state's) property tax is 32nd in the nation. We need to reduce our government entities, have competitive tax rates and spend our resources wisely.

en Its one of the worst businesses we could have come to the region. We have the third worst traffic in the nation, and the trucks have no transportation reason to be on the road. I would hope that motorists would be irate.

en A substantial number of future residents relocating into Maricopa will have experiences with paying local property taxes on their current homes in other municipalities, especially if they move to Maricopa from other states. en Another possibility is that Hispanic business owners may have started their businesses locally, but subsequently relocated them to other areas of the state or nation in search of larger markets.

en I think they should be forced to leave. They've broken the law, and they need to understand we're a nation of laws.

en On the local level, revenues which exceed the limit will have to be used to reduce local property taxes; at the state level, revenues beyond the limit can be used to reduce existing taxes or as cash rebates.
