It's very quiet and lackluster. I was looking for the markets to come up slightly because of a modest rally in the Deutsche mark-dollar. But even that has started to come down again.

It may be difficult for the dollar to sustain the overbought levels it reached against the euro in the past year. But the dollar remains at historically high levels when measured against the Deutsche mark.

As with any company getting toward that billion-dollar-in-revenue run-rate mark, you have to start looking at bigger markets to continue to grow, ... The consumer markets are typically the larger mass markets worldwide.

Markets had been going for a modest pullback. In that light, it is not surprising that we're seeing some dollar strength.

With the dollar trading at levels equivalent to 2.16 Deutsche marks, as against the 10-year average of 1.69, most people would consider it quite strong. But that also means that the dollar has more room to fall.

I think the markets are basically making time as a result of the Iraq situation. The negatives are being played up, and the positive things not absorbed. With a modest resolution to some of these things we might see a market rally.

Markets always price for the worse, then row back when it doesn't happen, ... In this case, as soon as Rita was downgraded, the dollar jumped in a relief rally. It's as simple as that.

The next six months are definitely going to be tougher for capital markets. Since capital markets are one of the best indicators for Deutsche Bank's performance, some investors may think it can't get any better.

Today we are just recovering from the major dollar rally of last week. We could see one more dollar spike up before the trade figures on Wednesday, which will underscore the issues affecting the dollar.

Obviously we're looking a relief rally here. The hurricane damage was less expected, and that has sent oil slightly lower. But in the next few days we'll see an increase in pre-earnings warnings that will in the short-term will contain the rally.

I think the rally got started by news of the super-secret meeting with the Iraqi military this morning and just kept going from there. Everybody loves equities and the dollar today and everything else is down. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

A late rally is better than no rally at all. We started hitting the ball. We started running the bases and playing. They got excited about it, and that's just an extra confidence booster for the next game.

With the physical trade still quiet because of the summer slowdown, the markets seem to be at the whim of the funds, so more exogenous issues such as the equities, oil, bonds and the dollar, or any other event that impacts the funds, needs to be watched closely.
