Asahi has strong sales routes into Japanese automakers, in particular Toyota, and Nippon Sheet's move is all about boosting sales to Toyota.

As sales have been growing in the United States, there's a lot of speculation about Toyota adding capacity for engine production, automotive production or both. Sales ultimately will be what determines our plans for another plant.

The Nissan and Toyota products will carve out a niche in the full-size segment, but the Big Three and F-series will continue to dominate for years to come, ... The products and brand names offered by domestics are very strong and getting stronger. The Nissan product is great, but it still has a way to go. So does Toyota.

Toyota and Honda are honing their competitive edge over their U.S. rivals. They'll certainly raise production and sales to keep pace with demand for their fuel-efficient vehicles.

Toyota's name is not for sale, ... Dealers can sell property, but Republic can't just buy Toyota's good name.
