en When Ford comes along and says that Toyota is manipulating the supply, it's nonsense. Toyota developed it all. Toyota does a lot of it in-house. Someone is pointing a finger at Bill Ford saying, Why don't you make more hybrids? So he has to point the finger at someone else.

en Toyota's momentum just continues to snowball. If I'm one of the guys running Ford or GM, at this point I'm deeply concerned about how quickly Toyota is accelerating.

en This is all about getting Toyota out there in front of the NASCAR fan, and that fan tends to be more of a blue-collar consumer. And if these people start to embrace Toyota, it's going to spell big trouble for General Motors and Ford.

en No matter what way you want to cut it, the contrast with is only that much more stark with Ford and GM. Toyota still has a much smaller production base in North America than GM or Ford, but increasing capacity as quickly as they have is an impressive feat.

Perhaps more importantly, this is the first time that two hybrids, the Ford Escape and the Toyota Highlander, dominate the SUV category. This is also the second year in a row that one vehicle, the Honda Odyssey, swept the minivan category.

en I'm more worried about what are we doing at GM and Ford to be competitive so we'll have the financial dollars to do what we do here. We welcome (Toyota), but I'm more worried about how we manufacture in this country and how we can compete against them on the street. I know our whole point is to race on Sunday and sell on Monday. We just need to have good business models at Ford and GM so we can compete on the street.

en Toyota always uses conservative figures so it can make sure it achieves the goals it sets. Toyota will soon catch up with GM next year just by growing at its current pace.

en The new sub-compacts are a lot more easy on the eyes than the Toyota Echo and the Ford Fiesta.

en Next year -- 2007 -- marks Toyota's 50th anniversary in America and seeing a Toyota Camry -- America's best-selling car -- in the NEXTEL Cup Series will be a great way to celebrate this milestone. The response to Toyota's involvement in the Craftsman Truck Series has been very positive, and we look forward to building on that acceptance at the next levels -- in both NEXTEL Cup and Busch racing.
