The coaches I don't ordsprog

en The coaches, I don't think it is as open as they say it is. I'm just hoping that every practice and in every game that they give me a shot to show what I can do and not [just let me] sit on the sideline.

en I suppose I'm like most coaches now, standing on the sideline hoping somebody asks them a question.
  Bobby Bowden

en He just draws stuff up for Bruce. He stays on top of Bruce on and off the field. When he found out Bruce was going to go in the game, he was coaching him up on the sideline. He also coaches him up in practice.

en It's just fun to gather round with all the guys and give the people who came a great show. This is a great way to end things and I'm really looking forward to college. I'm going in with an open mind and I'll try to give the coaches what they expect out of me.

en We ran a sideline play to get an open shot. It didn't happen.

en As coaches, our intensity rubs off on these players. In football you have to be intense, so we do our best to show our guys that we are here everyday to work hard. We can't just show up on game day with intensity, it has to be there every time we step on the field, especially practice.

en I take pride in practice. I don't show up like practice is practice; I show up to get better. Every practice and every game I'm learning something. But I won't be satisfied until I'm the best player in the world.

en With more minutes, I am just trying to play my game. When I'm open, I am just trying to hit the open shot and tonight it was falling. I know if I give 110 percent, good things will happen.

en We might have to look at how many guys we have on the sideline. There were a lot of people on that sideline. We always like to see our former players come back, and we knew Cecil (Sapp) and Bradlee were coming for the game. . . . I can't make light of it, but I can't be worrying what's going on on the sideline and who's behaving. I have to worry about our own guys and what's going on in the game.

en That's the kind of shot we want him to take. He makes that shot all the time in practice, so why not shoot it in the game? When he took the shot I was fairly confident the shot was going in. Any shot he takes I'll run with.

en She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. I was hoping that shot wouldn't go down. It rolled in and came out, thankfully. She had a good look, she was open, I was on the ground. Alison Bales came over to help a little bit. I think she hesitated and it might have thrown off her shot a little bit.

en When we played here Wednesday, my three was off ? I couldn't make a three for anything. So [Friday], that's all I worked on during practice. I stayed out there and shot three after three. I knew that if I was going to be open in this game that I'd have to take it.

en To me it was more than a walk-through. I had to do a little more conditioning after practice to show the coaches I was in shape, which was no problem for me. I kind of took this as a mini-practice because everyone else was walking through (plays) and I'm the only guy running routes. It was fun. It was exciting to be back.

en We're pretty old-school coaches, ... You've got to do it in practice if you're going to do it in the game. I'm not going to relent on that. If you do it in practice, you'll do it in the game. If you don't do it, you don't get a chance to play in the game.

en Let's face it, we've had several (coaches). So keeping that continuity was huge. And I honestly believe that Scott is one of the top coaches in the league because he teaches the game on the practice floor. And he also knows how to manage a game, how to use people. He's not afraid to try things.
