Every year I come to the state tournament and dream about what it would be like to be down there on the floor as a coach. There are a bunch of great coaches who have never coached a game on that floor. I think all the coaches are just glad they brought us along for the ride. These are great players making this happen.

long day at the hotel on Saturday. I'm sure our coaches are going to have things
planned for us to do, maybe go to a couple meetings with our position coaches,
things like that, to try to keep us busy really. Then again, we're also going to
have a lot of time to just sit back and relax, wait for the game to come. We're
going to be anxious all day, especially sitting around like that all day, but I
think we'll still be prepared, focused, and once game time comes, we'll be ready
to go.

As coaches we took that Maryville game and used it as fuel for the rest of the year. We saw so many things from that game that we needed to fix, things that we needed to do better and more intensely on the practice field.

Rocky Bernard had an excellent football game. What pushes that button? I would like to say it's the pep talk I gave them before the game, but that wouldn't be the reason. They executed the plan. They stuck with it. They must believe in their coaches, and that's part of it. And the assistant coaches did a marvelous job in the game. They really did.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

I'm not afraid to go a long ways out of the box if I have to. I challenge people to find a way to improve the game and to come up with new ideas. But we need to get it from coaches from all over the state. What are they thinking? What do they want to do?

Assisterande tränare jobbar mycket med oss. Särskilt med coach House, han jobbar med postspelet. Inför [FSU]-matchen hade han oss ute och jobba på de små detaljerna som vi övat på under träningen.

Some of these club coaches are abusing these kids and asking impossible things from them. Coaches preach every game is important, but how can we expect a player to stay at that high level for all these games they are playing? They are getting fatigued and burning out.
