I think he has the skills to do it, and if he works hard over the winter and next spring, he could be adequate enough to play the position. There are a lot of second basemen that don't turn the double play that well.

He's just what I thought. He's got a lot of speed and he works really hard. He's got a chance to play either position and I'll leave it up to him after spring which one he wants to try.

Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training.

He's got skills, but I told him they weren't playing out. And if the skills he has don't play out here, he would have to play Triple-A next year. It's very black and white. And maybe the idea of winter ball spurred him to have a good September.

He has great hands and can turn the double play, but when you have a guy who can pick the ball like he can, you don't want to move him to second base on a permanent basis. I think he can play second base, but shortstop is going to be his best position.

Luna has got the versatility to play wherever you need him, and at some point I'm sure he would prefer to be an everyday guy at one spot. We'll see how that works out. ... It's hard to know (when) because he didn't do very well with his spring training chance. But he's come out this year playing well early. I'm looking for opportunities to play him.

They turned that thing so quick. I thought off the bat that there was no chance for a double play. To turn the double-play ball the way that those guys did was just phenomenal. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic.

Yeah, he was coming. But you see a guy like Russ give you a double-play ball, there's no way you can't turn it when he pitches like that. That was huge getting that double play.

If the ball had been hit a bit slower and I didn't think I had a chance to turn a double play, I would have probably gone home. But we've turned double plays all season long and can't change anything you've done this season. If we turned that double play we might be talking about something different.

When that ball left [Mabry's] bat, I thought, 'No way we turn that double play,' ... I didn't think it was hit hard enough, but Eric made a quick throw and Adam turned it about as quick as you'll ever see. It was an amazing play, really.

We play hard every night. But right now, we don't have the skills to turn that effort into wins. We're not quite where we need to be.

He's won two games with his glove already. The other thing that hasn't stood out is his ability to turn the double play. He's turned two double plays that a lot of people don't turn.

Obviously, given what we saw we think he has an opportunity to make the team. Give him a full spring training as a true position player and maybe some winter ball, it's something that we think he has the ability to play in the big leagues.

Nobody knows what position they're going to be in yet. We're just going to go through the spring and the fall and see who the top three linebackers are. All of us are going to play as hard as we can.

We had to turn it up and play hard. Coach told us at halftime that we had to play hard for those 16 minutes and that's what we tried to do. We just didn't play our game in the beginning at all. We were half-playing at the start and we didn't come out ready to play.
