Good jobs are the lifeblood of a community. All the land can't be just taken up with houses. There needs to be employment centers.

I think we are making progress toward getting better jobs and employment here. It's a real fight to land a good company that has good paying jobs.

The units they command are mini production centers, the communications centers both audio and visual. They provide power with their generators. They are the lifeblood of our medium, and that's the way that we communicate to our audience and back to our network.

There are no community centers, no senior centers or youth centers. We have to serve all those purposes. We have become the community center, almost by default.

The one redeeming factor with this scheme is the claim that it will create 800 jobs. But most of those jobs will be for people with specialist and specific skills that we do not have in this location. We also have full employment in our community so the opportunities would not be beneficial for us.

The community will need everything -- facilities, employment centers, amenities, a government. You have to sell the sizzle early on,

Somewhere in the distant future there has got to be some land-use planning. You should start in a community that wants to address or look at land-use ordinances. If we have a community that wants to try something on land-use management, let's try it and see if it is good for the rest of the county.

You're going to get a guy who's straight?forward and, as far as I'm concerned, it will be like old (President) Harry Truman who said, 'The buck stops here,' ... My main issue is to get jobs, jobs, jobs because I'm union?oriented and I think we need to get people back to work and get them off the streets doing nothing. The world is recognizing you can't keep building 1950s-style ranch houses because we don't have the land anymore. I don't think San Jose is any different. As all cities mature and grapple with land becoming more scarce, there's still a desire to build housing in a community.

It's a similar block of land like what you have here with some private houses on it, and that was a stumbling block for him. We would probably need to get control of the houses [in order for a deal with Sharma to take place]. We would probably need to purchase the houses.

Certainly, although this is not good news for the central Aroostook County economy because the jobs at MBNA obviously were good jobs and very important to our overall employment picture, I'm not at all discouraged about the possibility of a different type of operation finding that facility suitable for call center usage if the intent of Bank of America is to dispose of the facilities.

The houses that are built have to look like the other houses. They can be smaller, but everything has to look the same because you want the individuals who live in the houses to be part of the community.

The community health centers are available and accessible to anyone in the community and we encourage people to use the health centers as their medical home.

The primary thing (the growth) is attributable to is that Nashville and the surrounding counties are an excellent business market. Houses sell because people have jobs. People have jobs because you have a good, diverse economic base.
